Xiaomi was previously earned the nickname ‘China’s Apple’ as it copied products of the US tech giant but over time, Xiaomi broke off that tag line with a series of innovative products of its own. The company has put a lot of its effort into research and development. Now, according to the latest news, the brand’s research and development efforts have seen it clinch a new patent for “a smart glasses and glasses case”. The patent was filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd.

The patent shows that the smart glasses product in detail. The details furnished in the patent convey that the product emits some therapeutic signals which include phototherapy signals like ultraviolet signals, visible light signals, infrared signals, and laser signals, and sound wave signals. These can treat brain diseases and mental diseases like depression, anxiety, and eye fatigue.

To be precise, the light therapy signal can treat brain diseases and mental diseases while the sound wave signal can treat mental illness such as relieve headache or fatigue. Note that magnetic waves or electromagnetic waves can promote the absorption of missing elements or effectively promote blood circulation in the brain.

As of now, we do not have any further details of the product but it is obvious that the product will also come with several features including a sound transmission technology land a speaker. However, as the technology is still at its patent level, we don’t think the product will be commercialized any time soon.

It is worth mention that if Xiaomi chooses to mass-produce this technology then it won’t be the first Chinese OEM to launch smart glasses because one of its Chinese competitor, Huawei has already launched two generations of its Gentle Monster Smart Glasses which offer UV protection and support taking and ending calls. It can also play and pause music. It comes with dual speakers and a microphone which is assisted by an AI powered speech noise reduction technology. We have to wait and watch what Xiaomi does with this smart glass product.
