Xiaomi and Redmi are now two independent brands and Redmi has already planned to release its first flagship smartphone with a 48MP camera on January 10th. Xiaomi will continually insist Redmi to produce good quality products at a low price!

The Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi has confirmed about the new independent brand Redmi via their Xiaomi Weibo account. The launch event poster shared with a caption “new independent brand” that give us hints that Redmi will be an independent brand just like Oppo – Realme and Huawei – Honor. The same post confirms, that Redmi will be holding a media event to announce it’s first Redmi smartphone as an independent brand.

Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi Technology has confirmed about the new independent brand Redmi while answering on Weibo platform and he mentioned “We (Xiaomi) will insist on making good products for good price” and the conversation also give us hint, the new device might have 3.5mm headphone jack.

Talking about the technical specs, the upcoming Redmi device may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor. To recall, this SoC uses the Kryo 460 architecture with 8-core design and coupled with Adreno 612 GPU. Also, the Snapdragon 675 chipset is equipped with multi-core AI engine that gives better performance up to 50% while working with AI applications.

The teaser image suggests a 48 Megapixel camera sensor but still, we don’t have any official confirmation about it. Since Redmi is now an independent brand, we might expect something bigger at an affordable price tag.

As mentioned, Xiaomi is holding a media event to launch the first smartphone under the independent brand ‘Redmi’ on January 10 in Beijing, China.
