Finally, Xbox announced the Xbox Series S, the more affordable and less powerful version of the Xbox Series X. It comes with cheaper pricing than its predecessor. Xbox Series S is touted to be the smallest Xbox console launched ever. Officially, no features are leaked by the company but we have a couple of rumored feature list that is quite convincing. Xbox Series S is going to be an affordable version of the upcoming Xbox Series X.
Xbox confirmed Xbox Series S through a tweet. The company shared a photo of the console and its price. In the post, the company posted “Let’s make it official! Xbox Series S | Next-gen performance in the smallest Xbox ever. $299 (ERP). Looking forward to sharing more! Soon. Promise.”
The “smallest” is written in a smaller font than the rest of the post. It must be noted that the US $299 means roughly INR 22,000 in Indian currency. The image shared by Xbox in its Twitter post shows a large black grill on the body of Xbox Series S. In the image, no disc inserting slot was spotted on the console, which conveys that Xbox Series S would exclusively be a digital-only edition. It will come with a white-colored controller.
We already know that the upcoming Xbox console, Xbox Series S is visibly smaller than Xbox Series X. A few days back, a very well-known tech tipster WalkingCat (@h0x0d) shared a small video clip on Twitter that showed off how the Xbox Series S can completely fit inside the Xbox Series X console.
Xbox Series S might come with a resolution of 1080 pixels or 1440 pixels. It is expected to be powered by a 7.5 GB RAM. The official tweet mentioned that Xbox Series S will deliver “next-gen performance” but quoted no particular feature. It seems we have to wait and watch to get a clear picture of what the company is cooking this time. Both Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X are expected to be released on 10th November 2020.
