According to the latest news, Wyze, the smart home company which is best known for its range of budget internet-connected security cameras has announced its first smartwatch, dubbed as Wyze Watch. The smartwatch will be available in two sizes — 44 mm and 47 mm when it ships in the US in February 2021.
Just like any other product from the company, this smartwatch also comes with a budget price tag. It is priced at the US $ 20 only. Earlier this year, Wyze announced the release of the company’s first fitness tracker, Wyze Band which came with a price tag of US $ 25.
The smartwatch will ship with fairly standard smartwatch features including a blood oxygen monitor, a heart rate tracker, an activity tracker, a sleep tracker, an IP68 water resistance rating, a dust resistance rating, battery life of nine days, and integration with Google Fit and Apple Health.
The company announced that the smartwatch will not only integrate with Wyze’s other devices but it will also support shortcuts to let you control products like its smart bulbs. It will display your notifications, allowing you to read email previews and texts. However, as of now, the company did not mention anything about the mobile operating system.
The 44 mm Wyze Watch has a 1.4 inches LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. It is backed by a strong battery of 260 mAh. There is also a 47 mm version of the device which has a 1.75 inches LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 385 pixels. It is backed up by a 300 mAh battery. Both the variants come with a storage space of 16 MB.
However, the device does not come with a GPS tracker or a voice assistant.
Frankly, it can’t offer competition to the brands like Apple or Samsung with this product but it can eventually deliver a modest promise by offering a simple, tracker rich experience. In simple words, it can be a good product for people with a low budget. Wyze Watch can be pre-ordered from today onwards.
