For the last couple of months, Twitter has worked hard to bring its Clubhouse-like audio chat rooms feature, Spaces, to users on iOS and Android. Clearly, a logical next place for Spaces to show up would be on the web. According to the latest news, Twitter has confirmed The Verge that it is working on the feature for browsers.

App researcher Jane Manchun Wong tweeted “Twitter is working on @TwitterSpaces preview cards for the web app”.

Last Friday, a Twitter Spaces developer posted some designs of how the web version of Space will look.

As of now, Spaces is only available on mobile platforms so bringing it to the web would be a significant expansion. With this, Twitter might be able to give a fair competition to Clubhouse which is still only on iOS.

Apart from this, it would also bring Twitter in a closer parity to Discord. Note that just yesterday Discord launched its social audio rooms feature, Stage Channels. On the other hand, it is reported that companies like Facebook, LinkedIn, Mark Cuban, Slack, and Spotify are also working on Clubhouse-like live audio features.
