Twitter developing a ‘Hide Reply’ feature for its users

Twitter, the micro-blogging site, has gained much popularity in recent years. Twitter is a place where people like to share their opinions as well as engage with others. However, Twitter users can also be severe in terms of their replies to a tweet. Now, the company has been getting reports about some replies on Twitter which are spam, derogatory or suspicious. This is the reason why the company is known to be building a new Twitter feature.

This feature is named as ‘Hide Reply’ feature which will be available to Twitter users soon. With the help of this feature, you can hide replies on your Tweets. The main aim of this feature is to give users more control to monitor unnecessary conversations on their handles. Once the feature is available, Twitter users will be able to hide replies.

Interestingly, this feature will not allow users to hide their replies permanently. However, the replies can be hidden temporarily so thatĀ hate or bad-faith do not ruin the substance of their tweets. For this, the user who has posted the tweet will have to choose to hide specific replies. For others, they can still view this hidden tweet but with the help of a menu option.

Twitter’s spokesperson also mentioned that the company will start publicly testing this feature in the coming months. Now, we already know that several features such asĀ block, mute and report are available on Twitter for the same reason. With the addition of ‘hide reply’ feature, users will be able to gain more control over their tweets and its replies.

Also, Twitter is reportedly working on a workaround of the much-requested ‘Edit’ feature. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey had mentioned that the company might bring a feature which allows users to edit their tweets within 5 to 30 seconds of posting
