Finally, Sony has announced the pricing and availability details of PlayStation 5 at its latest PS 5 Showcase event. It seems that the rumors and leakers have been right with PS5 expected price speculations. The PlayStation 5 is tagged with a starting price tag of US $499. This is going to be the standard model. There is also a digital edition that is priced slightly cheaper at the US $399.
However, it must be noted that, as far as price is concerned, Xbox products are still untouchable, because the latest iteration of Xbox, Xbox Series S comes with a price tag of US $299 only which is in fact cheaper an option than PS5. However, it must also be noted that Xbox Series S is not a flagship next-generation console that is why it is priced more affordability than Xbox Series X.
In simple words, Xbox Series S is not going to be a powerful Xbox console like Xbox Series X or any other consoles while, on contrary, on the other hand, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition has all the power of the PlayStation 5. The only major difference between PS5 and its digital edition is that the later does not feature a disc reader.
Sony revealed that PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will launch on 12th November 2020 which is just one day before the launch of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in countries like the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea.
The best part is, the device will launch globally in other countries as well on 19th November 2020.
