Snapdragon 875 vs Kirin 9000: Performance and Benchmarks

Snapdragon 875 vs Kirin 9000, this is one of the only few flagships System-on-Chips that are going to take their places in many flagship smartphones from various smartphone brands. Qualcomm is one of the most selling and performing SoCs around the globe. Brands like Google, OnePlus, Samsung use them in their flagship smartphones. Whereas Kirin SoCs can be seen in many flagship and non-flagship smartphones from Huawei and Honor.

In this article, we going to discuss and compare these two flagships SoCs from various perspectives like performance, benchmark scores, real-time usages, and many more. Although we will not be able to take any decision judgment because Qualcomm hasn’t announced the Snapdragon 875 officially. We are going to use the leaked and alleged performance scores and benchmarks to compare them.

At the time of writing, only Kirin 9000 is officially announced, Snapdragon 875 is yet to be announced, so all the comparison is based on leaked and alleged benchmarks.


Starting with the alleged performance of these flagship SoCs, on paper, Kirin 9000 looks more promising than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875. Both the SoC is equipped with eight cores in 1+3+4 architecture, but Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 9000 is clocked at 3.13 GHz whereas Snapdragon 875 is clocked at 2.84 GHz. But if we compare both the SoCs according to the Master Lu’s scoresheet, then obviously Snapdragon 875 is leading over Kirin 9000 in real-time usages due to its architectural advantages.

Both the SoCs have a lot of potentials to beat each other if properly optimized with the system. We are not going to predict the result right now, as these are only leaked specs, let’s wait for the official release of Snapdragon 875.

Coming to the Geekbench scores, it is already visible that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon is on the lead from HiSilicon Kirin 9000 from a great margin. Snapdragon 875 got a single-core score of 1105 whereas Kirin 9000 has only got 1040 and in the multi-core scores, Kirin 9000 is again on the lead with multi-core scores of 3653 whereas Snapdragon 875 got only 3512.

The Geekbench scores were recorded on a mysterious Xiaomi flagship with the Snapdragon 875 chipset and Mate 40 Pro with the HiSilicon Kirin 9000. So, we will have to wait for an official device with the Snapdragon 875 SoC to make a final verdict.

Final Verdict

Irrespective of the leaked and alleged scores, we should await the final version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 before any decisive judgment. For now, the SD875 is looking excellent from its real-time as well as on-paper scores and performance.

If Qualcomm lowers down its performance, then the Kirin 9000 may lag in terms of overall performance. However, it’ll be ahead within the GPU segment.
