Leaked Video Reveals Secondary Screen in Asus ROG Phone 5

Asus announced the collaboration with Qualcomm for Snapdragon 888 SoC in this year’s Qualcomm Tech Summit. We already have been getting a number of leaks and rumors for the last few weeks regarding the next-generation Asus ROG Phone. The hype has been around us regarding the ROG Phone 5 since the last-gen of the ROG Phone was ROG Phone 3. Well, that is a topic for another article, lets focus on the latest leaked video of the next-gen ROG Phone 5, which was surfaced on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo. The latest leak shows a working secondary screen at the rear for necessary notifications and ROG branding.

ROG Phone 5 (Rumored)

According to the newest information released by Weibo blogger @WHYLAB, the new ROG Phone 5 will basically continue the planning sort of the previous generation. The design and looks of the rear are essentially equivalent to that of the previous generation. However, there are some details that are fine-tuned.

From the video, it looks like this time, the rear portion of the device is made up of glass rather than last year’s polycarbonate built. The rear portion seems to have a small secondary display that can be used for various purposes like important notifications and different patterns. The two demoed uses show alerts for games and incoming calls.

From previous leaks and taking an idea from the last-gen ROG Phone, the device seems to have a number of good specifications. As Asus already announced at the Qualcomm Tech Summit, the next ROG Phone, i.e., 5 will definitely be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. And the device seems to have an OLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate.

Other than that the device will be equipped with a triple rear camera setup. The rear camera housing will have a primary 64-megapixel camera, other two camera specifications are yet in the dark. The smartphone will be fueled by a 6000 mAh dual-cell battery which can be charged by a 65-watt fast charger.
