After six years of launching the Samsung TV Plus service, Samsung is finally bringing the Free TV streaming service to India. According to the latest news, in a press release, Samsung said that all the Samsung Smart TV models from 2017 will come with Samsung TV Plus service support.
Samsung TV Plus is a free TV streaming service offered by Samsung that only needs an internet connection to work. It allows you to stream free TV content with advertisement supported select live channels and some on demand videos. Users won’t need a separate cable TV connection, a subscription, or any set top box. In simple words, with an internet connection, the Samsung TV Plus app provides a one stop solution.
Samsung said, even Galaxy Smartphones and Tablets will be supported by the service. As of now, Samsung has not revealed the exact date but the company said, the service will be live within April 2021.
Previously, Samsung rolled out the Samsung TV Plus service exclusively for Samsung Smart TVs. Last year, Samsung brought the services to the mobile devices. The mobile device list included select devices. According to the press release, in India, most devices running on Android Oreo and above will get it.
Samsung said that including India, Samsung TV Plus is currently supported in 14 countries around the world which are US, India, Canada, Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, UK, Italy, France, Spain, Australia, Brazil, and Mexico. Overall, the Samsung TV Plus app comes with content from 27 global and local channels. Samsung said, in the next few months, it will add more channels and content.
Note that if you have a Samsung Smart TV that is not older than the 2017 version then you can start enjoying the services right away, otherwise, you have to download the Samsung TV Plus app from Samsung Galaxy Store or from Google Play Store.
