Xiaomi announces Redmi Watch, first smartwatch from sub-brand Redmi at $45

As per the latest news, Xiaomi’s budget sub-brand Redmi has come out with its first smartwatch. Redmi has not yet released any smartwatch before. The first smartwatch device from Redmi comes with a pretty uninspiring design but at an attractive price. Redmi Watch just got announced in China at the price of 299 yuan which is something around US $45.

Redmi Watch has a 1.4 inches rectangular display with curved glass. The smartwatch comes in black, white, and blue color variants. There is a silicone strap available in black, white, blue, green, and pink. There is only one button on the side of the watch, the rest is handled by the touchscreen.

Alternatively, one can also download the Mi Fit app on their smartphone and pair it with the device.

Other specifications include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, a heart rate monitor, and up to 50-meter water resistance. Xiaomi is claiming that Redmi Watch is packed with a quality battery which will be able to hold the battery for up to 7 days and if you use power-saving mode then the charge will hold up to 12 days. The UI and watch faces make heavy use of black backgrounds.

Redmi Watch has been scheduled to hit the sales on 1st December in China. AS per experts, it might come to other markets including the US but in a slightly tweaked form. Note that, recently, XDA Developers spotted an FCC listing with a nearly identical watch dubbed as Mi Watch Lite which is still unreleased.
