Rainbow Six Siege aims for 4K at 120 FPS on next-gen consoles

At the Ubisoft Forward Livestream event, Ubisoft did some pretty big announcements regarding its tactical strategy shooter game Rainbow Six Siege.

Ubisoft’s famous Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is heading towards the next-generation consoles. The developers announced that the game is targetting to provide 4K resolution at 120 Frames-Per-Second (FPS) gameplay on next-generation consoles, that is, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The developer has promised to roll out this update this year. No formal date announced at the event. It was expected since no launch date, either, for Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X is known.

This is good news for console players who are going to upgrade their consoles to next-gen. Earlier, console gaming was limited to 60 FPS. But, with next-gen consoles, popular titles are improving themselves to provide a better experience.

Another announcement that will make the fans happy is that players who will be moving from last-generation consoles to the next-generation consoles will receive a free upgrade to the new Rainbow Six Siege when it releases. Players will not require to start from the beginning.

Note: Consoles from the same family can apply for an upgrade. It means that If you’re upgrading from an Xbox One to Playstation 5, then, you cannot get the upgrade for free,

Ubisoft continues working towards uniting its massive communities. Rainbow Six Siege players will be able to crossplay across different generations. What does it mean? It means that Playstation 5 players can play with Playstation 4 players. Similarly, Xbox Series X and S players can also play with Xbox One players without facing any issues.

In the live stream event, they also announced and made new Operator Sam “Zero” Fisher available permanently. Players can now unlock him.

With popular games releasing update news for next-gen consoles, we can expect to hear news about the release date of both Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X soon.
