Ahmedabad Police lifts ban on PUBG in the city as the exams are now over

We have some news which will bring a smile to the PUBG gamers out there in Gujarat. Particularly, this news will be fruitful for PUBG gamers in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat. The local authorities of Ahmedabad along with Ahmedabad Police have decided to lift the ban on the popular game. If you are unaware about the ban, PUBG was banned in various parts of Gujarat including Surat, Baroda, Rajkot and Ahmedabad. Although the ban is just on playing the game in public, it is still a ban.

For instance, if you are caught playing PUBG in public in the above mentioned cities then you will be arrested. Now, the Ahmedabad Police has announced that the ban is lifted and you can play the game in public as well. But in addition to that, the police also says that they are still concerned about the side-effects caused by this game.

The reason for lifting the ban is because police had placed the ban for exams and not the cause nuisance in the exam season. Now that the exam season is over in the city, there was no reason to ban the game anymore. Here is the official statement from Ahmedabad Police Commissioner on game’s ban lifted in the city:

“as the exam session is over and the direct trigger to initiating the action is not valid any more, we will not renew the proclamation. We have also taken public reaction into account.”

But A.K. Singh, Ahmedabad’s Police Commisioner also added that the side effects of PUBG still remain an issue. He added that

“However, we are still concerned about the matter, as we are coming across extreme use of the game. We have decided to take more aggressive affirmative action. Maybe we will initiate a discussion and helpline services to provoke various resources in the civil society”

It means that PUBG might still receive a ban in the future. Although PUBG Mobile tried to place a limiter on the game, they had to remove it due to outrage from the players.
