Oppo unveils Reno 5 Pro+ in China; pre-orders starts from 18th Jan 2021

According to the latest news, Chinese tech giant Oppo has unveils the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ in China today which was previously teased alongside the Oppo Reno 5 and Oppo Reno 5 Pro. Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ is the top-end variant of the Reno 5 series. It comes with a new 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary camera, Snapdragon 865 chipset, 65 W fast charging support, and much more. Note that the specifications of this handset are almost similar to most 2020 flagships. Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ Artist Limited Edition is the only exciting variant of this model.

The Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ Artist Limited Edition which was launched in China today has a colour-changing back panel just like what was seen in OnePlus 8T Concept phone. Oppo has partnered with visual artist Joshua Vides to design the comic style back panel of the Reno 5 Pro+. The panel comes with a surreal 2D pattern that marks the debut of Oppo’s electrochromic technology enabling the phone body to freely change colours.

All you have to do is double tap the back panel of the Reno 5 Pro+ and you will see the colours change. It seems that the basic technology of this electrochromic technology is the same in both Oppo and OnePlus.

Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ comes with a 6.55 inches Full-HD+ OLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate. The panel boasts a pixels resolution of 2400 x 1080 up to 1100 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by a Snapdragon 865 and it can hold up to 12 GB of RAM. The device offers an internal storage of 256 GB. It runs on Android 11 based ColorOS 11. The handset is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery with 65 W SuperVOOC fast charging support.

As far as the camera is concerned, there is a 32 MP selfie camera housed in a punch-hole cutout, and in the rear, there is a quad-camera setup helmed by a 50 MP primary sensor (Sony IMX766 with OIS support), a 16 MP ultra-wide lens with a 119-degree FOV, a 13 MP telephoto lens with 5x hybrid zoom, and a 2 MP macro camera.

The standard edition with 8 GB Ram and 128 GB storage is priced at CNY 3,999 (around Rs. 45,000) while the Artist Limited Edition comes with a price tag of CNY 4,499 (around Rs. 50,699). The device will be available for pre-orders from 18th January 2021 onwards and it will hit the sales on 22nd January 2021.
