For quite a while, it was rumored that NVIDIA is working on an Ampere card. Now, as per recent news, it seems that the company is not going to make any compromise on the 1080 pixel experience. Credible leaks unveil complete specs of NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ampere graphics card. In this upcoming chip, the cut down GA104 part is set to deliver a performance that is comparable to the GeForce RTX 2080 even though it comes at a far lower price.
Videocardz leaked that NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card is going to deliver an excellent 1080 pixel experience with ray tracing capability. It will give performance just like the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER or the GeForce RTX 2080.
According to news, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is simply a cut down version of the GeForce RTX 3070’s GA104 GPU with only 4864 CUDA cores enabled. It must be noted that RTX 3060 Ti featured 38 RT cores compared to GeForce RTX 3070’s 46 RT cores so it’s a cut down version itself.
On the other hand, GA104’s memory configuration remained more or less untouched here. This means NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will deliver a speed of 448 GB/s of bandwidth and 8 GB of VRAM.
As far as power consumption is concerned, it will possibly be 180W. It must be noted that in terms of power consumption this seems to be a big relief because GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3070 had power consumption levels over 300W.
Two games, namely, Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs Legion are set to arrive soon and both games have shown off excellent RTX effects. Overall, it seems that it could give a good challenge to Ampere and Turing cards at 1440 pixels and 4K.
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is likely to come with a good horsepower so if you are gaming on a 1080 pixel screen, it can be a smart option for you.
