HMD Global Nokia is keeping a launch event on 8th April 2021. The most common and predictable guesses are like Nokia G10, or Nokia 7.4, or Nokia 6.4. But recent events suggest that Nokia will be announcing two mid-range 5G smartphones on the launch event with the codename Quick Silver and Scarlet Witch, aka Nokia X20 and Nokia X110, respectively.
A recent exclusive by NokiaPowerUser reveals that HMD Global might be launching Nokia X20 aka Quick Silver and Nokia X110 aka Scarlet Witch with 5G support on the launch event scheduled for April 8, 2021. The publication previously covered the update on a Nokia-branded smartphone with codename QuickSilver. Back then they said that the smartphone could be Nokia 6.4 or 7.4 but it turns out Nokia X20.
A few weeks ago, a Nokia smartphone with codename QuickSilver also appeared on the benchmarking site Geekbench with key specifications of the smartphone. According to the listing, the Nokia X20 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G SoC, paired with 6 GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 480 is an octa-core (2x Kryo 460 Gold (Cortex-A76) @2GHz, 6x Kryo 460 Silver (Cortex-A55) @1.8GHz)SoC with Adreno 619 GPU for better graphical performance.
If these specifications are right, then the Nokia X10 and X20 could be the mid-range 5G smartphones from HMD Global, which will ultimately compete with the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 series.
Speaking of the key specifications of these smartphones, both the smartphones are reported to come with the new Snapdragon 480 SoC, which is actually a better SoC than the mid-to-high-end 730 SoC. The fact that is surprising to us is that the RAM of both the devices is the same, i.e, 6 GB of RAM. The storage variants are different at least. The lower Nokia 10 comes with 32 GB of onboard storage whereas the Nokia X20 will be equipped with 128 GB storage.
And watching the history of the HMD Global providing the latest and frequent updates, both the devices are predicted to launch with Android 11 out-of-the-box. According to the publication, the Nokia X10 will be available in two color options, i.e., White and Green, whereas the Nokia X20 will come in Blue and Sand color options.
The price of these devices aren’t certain but most probably, the Nokia X10 will come in a price tag of 300 euros (~$359) and the Nokia X20 will be priced at 349 euros (~$417), Well, these prices are meant for EU region, the prices in other regions like North Ameria, and South Asia may vary according to the Govt. guidelines.
It is not immediately clear when the Nokia X20 and Nokia X10 are going to be launched but rumors are rife that HMD may announce these phones alongside the Nokia G10 at the upcoming April event. The Nokia G10 seems confirmed because it has been spotted multiple times on various platforms, alongside the specifications. The Nokia G10 is predicted to return with a 6.4-inch display, an octa-core processor, and a 48MP quad-camera setup on the rear. This phone is going to be the primary phone that doesn’t follow the dot naming system of HMD Global.
