According to the latest news, Nikon has announced the development of its high end mirrorless camera to date, Nikon Z9. Nikon Z9 is going to be the first in the Z mount line that Nikon describes as a flagship. Nikon said Nikon Z9 will deliver “the best still and video performance in Nikon history” when it is released.
Nikon has also teased an image of the Nikon Z9 that looks like a cross between the current mirrorless Nikon Z7 and the Nikon D6 full frame DSLR. Nikon Z9 will come with a built-in vertical grip.
The company said Z9 uses a new image processing engine, and a newly developed full frame sensor. It will support 8K video “as well as various other video specifications that fulfill diverse needs and workflows.”
Interestingly, Nikon said, it will launch the Z9 within this year. Nikon has always been following this trend of announcing the development of its high end cameras just a few months before its launch. For an example, Nikon D6 was announced in September 2019 and was launched in February 2020.
