Back in May this year, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi had announced MIUI 12, its very own Android skin. Since the launch, the company has been busy issuing MIUI 12 updates to all the supported devices but that has not stopped the company from focusing on the next iteration of the Android skin, MIUI 13. MIUI 13 team is optimizing animations to make them run smoothly.

Recently, the developers of Xiaomi have revealed that MIUI 13 is under development at a Q&A session. Later on, the same was posted on the MI Community. It seems that, as of now, the engineers are focused on improving the animations “to make the animation run more smoothly.”

In simple words, once the new skin becomes real, Mi fans can once again expect to see a set of new animations and UI enhancements. A few days ago, a leaked screenshot of MIUI showcased a new power-off animation with a two-way slider. According to rumors, the new animation will make way either for the next MIUI 12 update or for the freshly baked MIUI 13.

Note that this is not the only big thing revealed in the Q&A session because the developers also revealed that they are also planning to bring back the MIUI Developer ROM project but however, they maintained that the number of testers allowed will be very limited.

If you are a Mi device owner then you must know that Mi customers involved in the project are allowed to test new features way earlier than the MIUI stable beta testers. The Chinese tech giant already has an MIUI Developer ROM project in place for its Chinese testers.

The company might also make this test global because that will reignite the MIUI Developer ROM project globally. You must know that, later on, Xiaomi clarified that the decision to bring back the project has not yet been finally taken. The company said its “resumption is not 100% sure yet.” so it seems that we have to wait and watch what Xiaomi is baking for us and whether it allows global tests for the MIUI Developer ROM project or not in the future.
