Today, tech giant Microsoft has announced 12.5 inches Surface Laptop Go in the US. This device was the long-rumored. This Surface Laptop is a budget-friendly laptop that is targeted at students. It runs on Windows 10 in S mode.
As far as design is concerned, Surface Laptop Go looks like a mini Surface Laptop 3. It comes with an aluminum lid body and a polycarbonate keyboard deck.
The laptop has a 12.45 inches PixelSense LCD display with 1536 x 1024 pixel resolution and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The display sports minimal bezels all around except for the bigger bottom chin. Microsoft Surface Go is powered by Intel’s 10th generation quad-core i5-1035G1 Ice Lake processor under the hood that offers a base clock frequency of 1.2 GHz and a boost clock of 3.6 GHz. The processor is coupled with integrated Iris Plus graphics.
It comes in two RAM and three storage variants. The base model offers RAM of 4 GB along with internal storage of 64 GB while the 8 GB RAM variant comes with 128 GB and 256 GB internal storage options.
As far as connectivity is concerned, the laptop supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 protocol, and Bluetooth 5.0. To round up the security options, Microsoft has swapped out Windows Hello facial recognition in favor of a convenient fingerprint reader into the power button. The company has equipped the latest iteration of the Surface laptop with a 5 MP front camera in the laptop, which maxes out at 720 pixels. The 720-pixel camera is promising enough to do a decent job for all your video conferencing needs in the current situation.
The Surface Laptop Go is incorporated with a decent sized touchpad and a full-sized keyboard with a modest 1.3 mm key travel. The laptop offers a battery life of up to 13 hours with its 65W fast charging capabilities. The company has integrated one USB Type C port, one USB Type-A port, one 3.5 mm audio jack, and one Surface Connect.
Microsoft Surface Laptop Go comes in three color variants: Platinum, Ice Blue, and Sandstone. Microsoft has priced the Surface Laptop Go 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage variant at the US $ 549, the 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB internal storage variant at the US $ 699, and the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage variant at the US $ 899.
The company has already started pre-ordering for all the variants. Microsoft Surface Laptop Go will hit the sales on 13th October 2020 in select countries such as the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. The company has also confirmed that it will bring the Surface Laptop Go to India on 30th March 2021 this means.
