We finally have some exciting news for all the gaming fans. The news is that two of the biggest gaming companies have joined hands. We are obviously talking about Microsoft and Sony. At the moment, Sony has its PS4 gaming console whereas Microsoft has its Xbox One lineup.

However, both these companies have decided to come together for the betterment of gamers. This does not mean that Sony and Microsoft will merge its gaming consoles. Obviously not. This means that Sony and Microsoft have partnered for a project that they both believe in.

And this new project is Cloud Gaming which is believed to be the future of gaming. Well, we recently saw the major announcement from Google regarding Cloud Gaming. This was the launch of Google Stadia which the company believes is a revolution in online gaming. We even have a controller for Google Stadia and there is obviously no console device.

Coming back to Microsoft and Sony’s partnership, both the parties have invested for the future of Cloud Gaming with Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform. This means that the respective streaming services from both companies will be hosted on Microsoft’s Azure platform.

While making this announcement, Microsoft said that “The two companies will explore joint development of future cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure to support their respective game and content-streaming services.”

The company also adds an important announcement for the content creators related to the gaming industry. Microsoft says that “these efforts will also include building better development platforms for the content creator community.” This means we are likely to see a platform like YouTube Gaming or Twitch coming up in near future from Microsoft and Sony.

At the moment, both the companies are not revealing any plans for the future. However, we are expecting an announcement from them on their plans as soon as possible.
