A couple of weeks ago Xiaomi announced the new flagship from Mi-series, Mi 11, and in a couple of weeks, Xiaomi is supposed to launch/announce the Mi 11 Pro as well. In-between the flagship runs; the Xiaomi India team launched the Mi 10i 5G in the Indian market under the Made-in-India campaign, if you already don’t know about it: it is an initiative where foreign (Non-Indian) MNCs makes the whole product within India.
Mi 10i is a mid-range tough competitor in the market, comes with a number of good specifications, like 120 Hz display, 108-megapixel flagship camera which we have seen in the Mi 11 and Snapdragon 750G that obviously means 5G connectivity as well, starting at 20,999 INR. There is a fun as well, apparently, he “i” in the Mi 10i means Indian, I know, it looks weird but that is what we have been told by the Xiaomi India team. It is basically the rebranded version of the already launched Mi 10T Lite 5G and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G.
Xiaomi Mi 10i Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi Mi 10i will be available in three different variants, the base 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant comes with a price tag of 20,999 INR, the mid 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at 21,999 INR, and finally, the top 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant will be available for 23,999 INR. It will be available in three colors; Midnight Black, Atlantic Blue, and Pacific Sunrise, and it can be bought from 12 PM on Jan. 8 (Jan 7, in case you have Amazon Prime subscription) through Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi Home.
Xiaomi Mi Specifications
Xiaomi Mi 10i features a 6.67 inches IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The FHD+ screen offers a 20:9 aspect ratio, 450nits brightness, and also supports HDR10. The display houses a punch-hole camera sensor which is being protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Interestingly. Mi 10i 5G comes with a water-repellent coating rated as IP53.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC with an onboard X52 5G modem, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage that can also be extended using a micro-sd card. The Snapdragon 750G is an octa-core SoC with 2×2.2 GHz Kryo 570 and 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 570, which is being backed by Adreno 619 GPU for better graphical performance.
In the camera department, the Mi 10i 5G features a quad camera housing at the rear and a single hole-punch camera at the front. The quad rear camera housing includes a primary 108-megapixel camera sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, and 120 degrees viewing angle, and finally a couple of 2-megapixel sensor for macro and depth effect with an aperture of f/2.4. In the front, the smartphone features a 16-megapixel selfie camera sensor placed in a small hole-punch cutout.
The Mi 10i 5G is fueled by a 4,820mAh battery which can be charged using a wired 33-watt Mi fast charger included in the box. Xiaomi claims that the device can be charged from 0 to 100% within 58 minutes using the 33-watt fast charger. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 5G, Bluetooth, USB Type-C charging port, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and all the basic physical sensors like fingerprint sensor (side-mounted), gyroscope, accelerometer, etc.
