Meizu is one of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer which releases its smartphones outside of its home too. Earlier this year, Meizu announced a new concept phone named Meizu Zero. This smartphone was demonstrated as a phone which had no buttons, ports or holes. This made it entirely waterproof which is obvious. However, the phone remained only a concept. Later, Meizu started a crowdfunding campaign for the Meizu Zero which totally backfired. The company had to come out after that and say that it was just a marketing stunt.
We are now hearing about a new release from Meizu once again. But we expect the company to launch a smartphone in the market for real this time. This new smartphone should be the latest flagship from Meizu, the 16s. As it is a flagship smartphone, the device is expected to run on Snapdragon’s 855 processor. We do know, however, that smartphones with Snapdragon 855 launched this year are less. So we might or might not see Meizu 16s with the latest Snapdragon processor.
On the other hand, Meizu has listed its upcoming smartphone on the website which is a clear marketing tactic. From that, we now know some of the specifications regarding Meizu’s upcoming flagship. The specsheet also reveals that Meizu 16s will be powered by Snapdragon 855 processor, Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. We will also have 6GB of RAM on this smartphone. The smartphone will have a 6.2-inch display expected to be a AMOLED Full HD+ panel.
We can also notice that some of the unique features of Meizu 16s are also listed. It is mentioned that the device will have a notchless display and in-display fingerprint scanner. Along with that, we will have 10-LED ring flash and Sony IMX 586 sensor along with fast charging support up to 24W. We will know more about the Meizu 16s on April 20 when it is expected to be unveiled.
