LG G8 ThinQ will have a 3D front camera for face unlock

LG is known to be releasing their latest flagship smartphone soon. This smartphone will be launched in the LG G series. It was already rumoured to be named as the LG G8 ThinQ. This is because LG has adopted the ThinQ branding for all their products since last year. Now, the name of LG’s next flagship has been officially confirmed by the company themselves. And yes, LG’s next flagship will indeed be called the LG G8 ThinQ.

This information has been released by LG in the form of a press release. With this, we have one more instance where a company has revealed details about their upcoming smartphone before launch. This has been done by Samsung, OnePlus and various other companies. This activity is done mostly to create hype around the product.

According to LG’s press release found on their website, it is to announce a partnership. This partnership is done with INFINEON to introduce a time-of-flight camera on the LG G8 ThinQ. Thus, the front camera on the LG G8 ThinQ will be powered by INFINEON. Now, the time-of-flight camera can also be named as a 3D camera. This camera is used to capture the subject and background to estimate its depth. This also reveals that the LG G8 ThinQ will have dual cameras on the front, presumably.
