Lenovo unveils ThinkPad X1 Carbon with 8th Generation Intel processor

Lenovo has officially announced their latest lineup of ThinkPad lineup of Laptops. This also includes the top-end ThinkPad X1 Carbon Laptop from the company. The latest ThinkPad series from Lenovo is not only powerful but also lighter than the previous generation. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon has been updated to its 7th generation whereas the ThinkPad Yoga gets its 4th generation update. Now, it should be noted that the latest Lenovo ThinkPad series comes with the 8th generation Intel Core processors.

Apart from the performance boost due to the latest processors, Thinkpad series has also become lighter than before. Talking about the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, it is lighter than before and also thinner at 14.75mm. Also, there is now a carbon fiber weave pattern on the exterior which is similar to the Dell XPS 15.

Like last year, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes with 14-inch display at Full HD and Quad HD resolution. Apart from that, we have options of 8 or 16GB of RAM on this device along with 2TB of SSD.

ThinkPad Yoga 2-in-1

In terms of I/O ports on the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, you get 2 USB 3.1 ports and 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports. It comes with a 51 Watt Hour battery which gives 15 hours of battery like according to Lenovo. Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 2-in-1 is also updated with a new aluminum brushed finish. The 2-in-1 device also comes with much-reduced bezels than before. This means that the Yoga 2-in-1 from Lenovo is now 17% smaller than before. On the ThinkPad Yoga 2-in-1, you will get a 10-bit 4K HDR panel whereas the ThinkPad X1 Carbon only has up to QHD panel.

Both the devices, ThinkPad X1 Carbon and ThinkPad X1 Yoga are expected to be available from June 2019. As far as pricing is concerned, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga will be available in the US for $1,709.99 and $1,929.99 respectively.
