Latest iPhone XR from Apple will have wide-angle lens along with a telephoto sensor

Apple will launch its successor to the iPhone XR from last year. We know that the iPhone XR came with just a single camera. However, we are most likely to see a dual camera setup in the next iteration of iPhone XR. This also makes sense because the iPhone XI is likely to have a triple rear camera setup.

According to reports by Japanese blog Macotara, the iPhone XR 2 will have two different sensors for its dual camera setup at the back. One of these sensors is likely to be the wide-angle lens. for portrait mode shots, iPhone XR 2 will have a telephoto lens as well.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, iPhone XR 2 will have a 6.1-inch display which will be same as the current iPhone XR. However, the next iPhone XR is said to have a bigger battery than the current generation. Along with that, Kuo predicts that the phone will have an improved face unlock mechanism.

Although this report is to be taken with a pinch of salt, reports suggest that iPhone XR 2 will have a USB type-c port. This means that Apple will ditch its beloved lightning port on the next iPhone XR. However, we say that the reports might not be true because the iPhone XI is said to retain the lightning port.

Also reported is the fact that iPhones in 2019 will have bigger displays, better cameras and fast charging which was missing from the previous iPhones. Therefore, we might see much more improvements to the iPhones this year then all the previous years combined.

Having said that, we are not sure if Apple will ditch the Lightning port for USB Type-C because Apple is still releasing new products with its Lightning port. Also, Apple’s WWDC is just a month away so we will see more about Apple’s plans at this conference soon.
