Today, Google has officially launched new flagship Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones at its hardware event. Frankly, almost all the specifications were previously leaked, and more or less they were right in every aspect so there is not much surprise about the new phones. Apart from the confirmation of the specifications, we have price and availability details this time.

To start with Google Pixel 5, it comes with a fresh new design with a punch-hole camera. It has a 6 inches display with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The display offers a full-screen design with no forehead or chin.

Pixel 5 is powered by Snapdragon 765G processor under the hood. As far as the processor is concerned, it seems that with this processor, the company is not looking forward to competing against flagship offerings from other Android OEMs, or the iPhones. The processor has the Qualcomm X52 modem for 5G connectivity.

The phone runs on 8 GB RAM. The handset is IPX8 water resistance. The smartphone offers an internal storage space of 128 GB onboard. The handset is backed up by a 4080 mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging technology. The phone also supports wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, and mmWave 5G networks.

Pixel 5 is packed with a 12.2 MP primary rear camera with OIS and EIS alongside the new 16 MP ultra-wide lens and on the front, there is an 8 MP selfie shooter. This time, Google incorporated an ultra-wide-angle lens. The company has also added Night Sight to Portrait mode which means you will be able to shoot quality portrait shots even in low light.

There is also a new Portrait Light feature that lets you add in lighting to your subject in a portrait photo. This feature lets the user to drop lighting from wherever he or she likes, so users will get to decide how the portrait looks. The best thing is, Google said that you can use it directly from the Google Photos app, and it will work with older portrait photos as well.

Pixel 5 comes with a price tag of US $ 699 and it will be available from 15th October 2020 in the US. In the US, pre-orders are open now.

Pixel 4a 5G is nothing but the 5G version of the Pixel 4a. Apart from offering 5G technology, it also offers a few hardware specification changes as compared to its 4G variant. Pixel 4a 5G comes with a 6.2 inches  OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 765G under the hood as compared to the Snapdragon 730G in Pixel 4a.

Pixel 4a 5G runs in 6 GB RAM offering internal storage of 128 GB. The handset is backed up by a 3885 mAh battery on board. It does not support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Google tagged Pixel 4a 5G with a price tag of US $ 499. It will go on sale from 15th October 2020 in Japan.
