Espresso Displays is a Sydney based start-up with the promise of the world’s thinnest portable touchscreen monitor that will improve your productivity every day. Espresso Displays Portable display comes with a design process, the LCD display, PCB (circuit board) and casing. With all its components, it is just 5mm thick.
Espresso Displays will be available in two size options: 13 inches and 15 inches. Espresso Displays has an expected retail price of something around $473 which makes it literally more affordable than dominant portable displays currently available in the market like that of ASUS Zenscreen.
It is a Kickstarter project. Interestingly, the Kickstarter campaign got fully funded within just 7 hours of listing. It should be noted that the Espresso Display’s projects on timing for delivery are also quite tangible, with early backers expected to receive their devices from February 2020 onwards.
Espresso Display portable display is USB-C bus-powered, so it can take input from USB-C compatible devices and similarly, you can also power it from a USB-C power supply. Likewise, you can also connect it with an HDMI input as well.
The portable display comes with two optional add-ons: a flip case and a and a MountGo device. The flip case can be folded into a triangular stand like that of an iPad to hold the display at a relatively fixed angle. On the other hand, the MountGo device provides a more flexible desktop-based mounting solution.
USB-C and HDMI inputs support make Espresso Displays compatible with a huge range of devices. The list includes Windows and Mac PCs, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One gaming consoles, Android devices, and Apple iOS devices.
The retail box of the portable display includes an Espresso Display, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a USB-C / A adaptor for older devices, an HDMI to Mini HDMI cable and a microfibre cleaning cloth.
