Discord, the popular community for gamers has announced that, from 2019, it will allow the developers to have 90% revenue to all self-publish games. This new incentive program was announced on their official blog by considering the game developers effort.

On their blog post, they mentioned the main reason why developers started creating their own stores and launch their games. They did some research on it, talked to lots of developers and got valuable opinions. That made them choose the wise decision about the 90/10 revenue split of all the games sold on the Discord game store.

A few days back, Epic Games announced about the 12% game’s revenue split than Steam. And now, Discord made a move to compete with other game publishing platforms.

From 2019, Discord will change it store something like a self-serve game publishing platform which grants access to all developers to publish their games and share 90/10 revenue split. Discord hopes, that the new revenue split will help all the developers to focus to come up with great games “focusing on what’s really important” to the community.

The company also claims, “No matter what size, from AAA to single person teams, developers will be able to self publish on the Discord store with 90% revenue share going to the developer.”

So the other 10% covers will cover the operating costs of Discord. Also, the company promises about the upcoming improvements to make Discord platform a better, faster and stronger.
